ACCESSING YOUR ACCOUNT: To access your FirstClass E-mail account simply click on the FirstClass icon on the desktop of your LVS laptop desktop.  Enter the username and password that you received at the beginning of the year.  If you have forgotten either one, please contact your Education Specialist.

Know that you may also download FirstClass E-mail to any of your home computers.  Simply go to the LVS webpage and click on the FirstClass link on the left hand side of the screen.

BASIC INFORMATION :

Your Education Specialists will correspond with you via the FirstClass E-mail accounts. 
Please use your FirstClass E-mail account when sending communication to your Education Specialist or other LVS staff members.  (When using an outside E-mail account there is no guarantee that the communication will be received.)
FirstClass E-mail accounts are for Education Specialists and the teaching adults.  Please do not let your child use your FirstClass E-mail account.
Education Specialists will respond to your E-mail within 24 hours. (Please reciprocate.)
Access your FirstClass account regularly; checking once a day during the school week is recommended.

K12 Kansas This board is for all Kansas K12 curriculum users.  Both LVS and non-LVSers. 
 

3.  K12 Lesson & Course Progression

Understanding your child's lesson and course progression through the K12 curriculum is an important part of the Lawrence Virtual Schoool. First , for a student to progress through each lesson, LVS measures a student's mastery of that particular lesson. In order to achieve mastery and progress, a student needs to earn at least an 80% on the lesson assessments. Because LVS students are not bound by a traditional nine month school year, they are given the time necessary to master each course. Students are however, expected to show adequate progress every month.  Second , in order to satisfy course requirements, students will need to complete a certain percentage of each curricular area. Students need to complete at least 90% of their math and language arts curriculum, 85% of their science and history curriculum and/or 80% of their music and art curriculum in order to move on to the next course in that particular curricular area.
